Surpass Success in the Austrian Alps:
They used Surpass Copycat to catalog more than 10,000 books!

“The Surpass software system suited our needs for Schloss Mittersill in Austria admirably,” Marlene Pannkuk praised.

An independent consultant, Marlene coordinated the library automation at this Christian conference and study centre located in the lovely Austrian Alps. 

In fact, we believe Schloss Mittersill is the first Surpass installation in an ancient castle!  The library in the castle is home for theological works in a variety of languages.

To catalog the 10,300-volume collection, Marlene especially appreciated Surpass Copycat z39.50 copy cataloging client.  “We were able to go for hits on Surpass Copycat and process books accurately and quickly,” Marlene reported.  “We processed 8,300 books in a total of 6 weeks by using Copycat. The number of books we had to process manually was minimal.”  (The rest of the collection was cataloged later.)

Marlene also found the Surpass sales staff and support team helpful.  “As questions came up for the use of the software, I always found the answers through the sales and support teams,” she said.  “My calls were answered on the spot or the return calls were prompt.”

Schloss Mittersill patrons took quickly to Surpass Safari. “Patrons wanting information on books found Surpass Safari easy to access and user friendly,” Marlene enthused.   

In the course of her volunteer library work, Marlene has used several software systems.  “Surpass, although less expensive, met the needs of this library well,” Marlene said.  “I highly recommend Surpass to others.”
