Searchpoint is not a replacement for your subscription
databases -- it's a tool that makes them more accessible and
easier to search. You maintain your existing subscriptions
with our current providers and we configure Searchpoint to
connect to them. With Searchpoint, you retain the full
functionality of the native interface of each of your databases
and OPAC because Searchpoint sends your user directly into those
databases when the click a link from the Searchpoint results
list!
Nothing to install, nothing to maintain
When you subscribe to Surpass Searchpoint, there's nothing
for you to install and nothing for you to maintain. That's
because the entire Searchpoint system runs from our servers.
You simply provide a link from your library home page to your
Searchpoint start page on our servers. Patrons click the
link to connect to Searchpoint where they will be presented with
a search box and a list of your databases to choose from,
including your library catalog.

K-12 school libraries and media centers may purchase
Searchpoint subscriptions for just $600 per year for connection
to up to 10 databases plus the OPAC. Additional database
connections can be added for $300 per five connections.
