Surpass includes powerful reporting features to help you gather the exact information you need from your system.  In multi-library centralized environments, reports can be run against a single location, a group of locations, or the entire database for all locations.

On this page we highlight some of the general features of Surpass reporting.  Beyond these features, Surpass also includes a powerful built-in custom report generator.

Easy to find and navigate
It's easy to fine the appropriate report for your needs by simply going to the reports menu under Patrons, Materials, or Circulation from the Surpass Central menu.  Reports are grouped into categories.  Click any report to see a complete description.  Buttons for "Next Step" and "Prior Step" will guide you through the process.

Options
Each built-in report has a variety of options available.

Preview and Print
Preview report results on-screen exactly as they'll appear before printing.

Save, Export, Publish to the Web
The final results of your report can be exported to common file formats for use with other programs.  Unlike other software packages, Surpass exports the final results of your report rather than just dumping your entire database to a file.  Formats include:

• .RTF  (rich text) for importing into a word processor
• .PDF (Adobe Acrobat Reader)
• .XLS  Excel Spreadsheet
• .HTM Web Page.  Surpass even breaks long reports into multiple pages with hyperlinks at the bottom.  Just drag-and-drop them to your web site!

Share
If you create custom reports, it's easy to share them with other Surpass users.  To share with another user in your same system, simply click the "share report" button.  To share with another Surpass user anywhere, you can export your report definition and send them the report.

Variety
Surpass reports are found in three areas of Surpass Central that correspond to the primary type of information the report is based upon: materials, patrons, or circulation.

• Material Reports
  • Statistical reports such as: purchasing report, Dewey or LC Divisions Report, Age Analysis, Weeding Report, Intralibrary Loan Report, more
  • Label and Card Reports such as: Barcode Labels, Spine Labels, Catalog Cards, more

• Patron Reports
  • Built-In Patron and Label Reports such as: Overdue List, Fines List, Delinquent List, Library Usage, Patron ID Cards, more
  • Notices such as: Overdue Notices, Fines Notices, Delinquent Notices, Fines Statements, Reserve Notices, more.  Click here for detail on notices.

• Circulation Reports
